Should I reteach yesterday’s Dimensions Math KA page before today’s?

No. Do not reteach the whole of yesterday before today. Sit with today’s Dimensions Math KA page. If one picture from yesterday is still thin, one short return on that picture — then today’s work. Catch-up is not a daily prologue.

Yesterday is not a required prologue

The honest urge is to rebuild. They wobbled on yesterday’s groups. Today’s page is already open. You stay on yesterday until it feels finished, then you start the new one. By the time you get there, the sitting is spent.

That rebuild looks careful. It is a second program wearing yesterday’s cover. KA already chose today’s page. A full reteach before every lesson asks them to pass a test you invented so the new page can begin.

Kindergarten pages are small on purpose. They do not need a daily preface. If yesterday was shaky, that is information. It is not a script to run again in full.

Sit with today’s page

Open today’s KA page. Put out the objects that picture already uses. Let them touch the group or the match the book is asking about. Stay in that language. Do not rewind the whole prior lesson so today can “count.”

If they can begin, begin. The new page often carries a piece of yesterday inside it — the same kind of seeing, one step on. Doing today is how yesterday keeps working. Rebuilding yesterday first can hide that.

You do not owe the morning a complete review because one item was wobbly. You owe them a sitting they can finish while it is still clear.

If one picture is still thin

Sometimes one piece from yesterday will not hold: a group they could not show, a match they guessed. That is a short return, not a reteach stack.

Put those objects back on the table. Ask them to show the picture once. Wait. If they can show it, stop. Then open today. If they cannot, stay with that one picture a little longer — still not the whole page from yesterday, and still not a new packet beside the book.

When today’s page is groups — matching, odd one out, two sets — Match & Sort can sit beside that same seeing. No score. No timer. It is not a reason to replay all of yesterday first.

Then today’s work

The order is simple. Today’s page. A short return only if one picture is still thin. Then back to today. A full reteach before every KA lesson is how catch-up becomes the real curriculum.

Leave the daily prologue shut. Dimensions Math KA is the book on the table — not a second method, and not a stack of yesterday you must finish to earn today.
