How it works
- Choose height, length, weight, capacity, or a little of each.
- Two clear objects appear. The child taps the one that matches the word.
- A miss is “Try once more.” After a second miss, a quiet gold hint.
- Five to eight minutes. Stop whenever you like.
The mathematical idea
Measurement begins with direct comparison, not units. The child holds one attribute still — height, or length, or weight, or capacity — and names which object has more of it.
Why it helps
The book’s words only stick if the child hears them while looking. This sitting keeps the words and the pictures together.
